Co-curricular programme at Nexus

Unfortunately, due to the current situation, we have decided to suspend the co-curricular programme from this Thursday (5th November) up to and including Thursday 12th November.  On Friday 13th November, we will review our approach and will contact you again to confirm the arrangements moving forward.

Two classes will continue next week:  Year 9 French will continue on Tuesday and Year 11 Further Maths will continue on Wednesday.  These are GCSE courses and need to continue as their qualification is dependent on their after school provision. These classes will have their normal finishing time of 4.30pm.

Therefore, on Thursday 5th, Friday 6th and for the week starting Monday 9th November students will finish their school day at the following times: Year 7 and 8 will finish at 2.40pm; Years 9, 10 and 11 will finish at 2.45pm.

A mini bus will be provided to take Praze students back to Praze. This will leave at 2.45pm prompt.

We realise that suspending the co-curricular programme brings difficulties for families and it will mean that different collection arrangements will need to be made. However, we are hopeful that you understand the need for us to suspend after school activities in the short term.  If you are unable to collect your child and your child is unable to walk home, we will run silent study for them.  If you would like your child to attend silent study please email Nexus reception sharing the day(s) that your child will need to access this provision.

As always, thank you for your understanding.  We are saddened that we have needed to reach this decision and will look forward to re-introducing the co-curricular programme as soon as it is appropriate.

Yours sincerely,

Naomi Godolphin
Assistant Principal / Director of NEXUS
