As part of their Geographical Practical Skills, our students undertook fieldwork at Gwithian beach in November.
Measuring the beach profiles at 4 sites, to determine whether longshore drift was having an impact on the size and sediment of Gwithian beach. Also collecting data on pebble size and pebble roundness along the beach, again to see if this had any link with longshore drift.
Each team worked fantastically well and completed the data collection with time left to play a quick beach team game in order win some sweets – well done everyone!
They are now learning how to present their data effectively and will hopefully come up with some inspired geographical conclusions.
