Nexus begins the quest for a Poet Laureate

By on Jan 16, 2019 in Blog |

We are delighted to announce that our search for the Nexus Poet Laureate has commenced. Students have been invited to put pen to paper and craft a poem about the local area or an aspect of Cornish history in a bid to become CSIA’s first Poet Laureate. The successful wordsmith will work with a member of the Sixth Form to write about significant school occasions, national events and notable matters of cultural and social importance. This is a great opportunity for students to make their voices heard and express ideas in this most powerful and distilled mode of writing.

Students wishing to be considered for this exciting and creative role can submit their poem to Dr McGovern by Wednesday 6th February.

The name of our first ever Poet Laureate will be revealed on Wednesday 13th February.

Good luck to our prospective poets – we look forward to being inspired by your poetry!
