Following on from the excellent results from the first round of the Junior Mathematics Challenge this year; 6 students have made it through to the next rounds of the competition. Five students have been asked to take part in the Junior Mathematics Kangaroo and Ben McGuire, Year 7 Nexus, has been invited to take part in the competitions elite second round, the Junior Mathematics Olympiad. This level of competition is by invite only with only approximately 1000 of the 350,000 entrants from the JMC being eligible to take part.
This is an excellent achievement and is testament to Ben’s superb mathematical ability and problem solving skills. He has become the first student in CSIA history to proceed through at this level and we wish him all the best in the upcoming competition.
